
Currently our Board of Directors are striving to ensure the saftey of all skaters.
Any concerns or questions regarding COVID-19 must be directed to one of our board members .
Protocols:
A skater experiencing symptoms of COVID-19:

If an individual becomes unwell with symptoms of COVID-19, or if someone is aware of an individual that becomes unwell with symptoms of COVID-19, that individual must immediately stop participation in club activities.

The individual should be isolated from all others in a well-ventilated area, or outside, and instructed to wear a face mask.

The individual shall be sent home and instructed to follow public health guidelines regarding self-isolation and testing.

The facility will be informed to determine if any areas need to be closed and/or require additional cleaning/disinfecting.

A member of the board must be informed of the situation and will contact the individual or his/her parent/guardian to determine next steps to be taken.
An Individual has Tested for COVID-19

Any Person(s) that is part of the club that has been tested for COVID-19 must not participate in any club programs or activities while awaiting the results of the test.

The Board of Directors will consult the Session Participation tracking sheets to inform other club members who might have been in close contact with the individual.

Any Person(s) who were in close contact with the individual should not participate in any club programs or activities and should follow public health guidelines until the diagnosis of COVID-19 is ruled out by health professionals.
An Individual Tests Positive for COVID-19

Any Person(s) who tests positive for COVID-19 must inform a member of the board.

The board of directors will work where requested with the facility and Public Health officials to assist in contact tracing. The Session Participation tracking sheets may be used to assist Public Health officials in informing other club members who may have been in close contact with the individual.

Any Person(s) who were in close contact with the individual should not participate in club programs and activities for 14 days and should follow Public Health guidelines regarding self-isolation and testing.

The facility will be informed to determine if any areas need to be closed and/or require additional cleaning/disinfecting.

Skate Ontario will be informed of any positive COVID-19 diagnosis.
Return to Blenheim Skating Club Programs and Activities Following Illness

If no test was performed, or the COVID-19 test was negative, the individual may only return to club programs and activities once they no longer have any symptoms of COVID-19.

Following a positive COVID-19 test, an individual must follow Public Health guidelines regarding return to activities.
Refund Policy Regarding COVID-19
Refund or credits will be offered in the following situations:

A skater tests positive for COVID-19

A skater is required to isolate for 14 days due to COVID-19
-
There is an outbreak that requires the closure of arenas
-
The Municipality of Chatham Kent and/or the Province of Ontario changes protocols that results in termination of the 2021-2022 season.
Before You Arrive at the Rink
-
Self-Screening to be completed at home – please complete the Skate Ontario Screening, and the Municipality of Chatham Kent Screening.

Skaters must arrive 15 min before scheduled ice session. This allows for the COVID-19 screening to be completed.

Skaters must arrive fully dressed to the arena; every skater is asked to wear clean gloves in the arena and on the ice.

Skaters must bring a pair of labeled hard skate guards.
-
Skaters may bring a FULL water bottle from home; no other food or drink is allowed inside the arena. Water filling stations are not available.
When You Arrive at the Rink

Contact Tracing will occur for each session of skating. Attendance will be taken and recorded (name and contact number). Information will be stored and maintained by the board of directors in case contact tracing is necessary.

Warm up may occur in the parking lot, respecting the physical distance of (2 metres) at all times
-
The arena doors will be unlocked 10 min before your session starts. One entrance will be open for entry. Two spectators per skater will be allowed entry into the arena.

Skaters will be directed to a designated spot to put skates on.
-
Skaters are to wear a mask when entering the area; this will be removed when they step onto the ice, and placed back on when they exit the ice until they are out of the arena.

Sanitize your hands when entering and exiting the facility.
On the Ice

Please remain spaced at least 2m apart when entering and exiting the ice surface.

Masks are required in the facility but NOT on the ice.
-
You are responsible for providing your own tissues and bag for disposal. There will be one garbage located outside the main entrance
-
Music will be supplied by the coaches for their own skaters.
When Your Session is Over

Line up at least 2m apart when exiting the ice and take your belongings with you.

Exit the facility within 10 min of the end of your on-ice session
-
You are not permitted to be in the building unless you are on the ice or entering/exiting the arena
Reminders
-
Masks and gloves should be washed daily after returning home from the rink.

Washrooms will be available in the arena. The skater is strongly encouraged to use the washroom at home prior to coming to the arena and/or once the session is over and they have returned home.

Bring your own hand sanitizer and use it frequently.
